Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using the Anchor Loop mobile application (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not create an account or use the Service. Your use of the Service constitutes your ongoing acceptance of these Terms and any future updates to them (subject to the notification process described in Section 13).

By creating an account — whether via email registration (explicit checkbox) or by signing in with Google or Apple (implicit acceptance by proceeding) — you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy, and that you are at least 16 years old.

Service Description

Anchor Loop is a habit-building mobile application grounded in behavioral science — specifically the COM-B model, Tiny Habits methodology, and identity-based behavior change. The Service helps you:

  • Define and track habits anchored to existing behaviors
  • Set goals and conduct weekly reviews of your progress
  • Receive contextual habit reminders via push notifications
  • Build an identity aligned with the person you want to become
  • Optionally connect with other users through accountability pods and pacts

The Service is provided on iOS and Android platforms. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with reasonable notice where practicable.

Anchor Loop is a productivity and behavior-change tool. It is not a medical device, therapeutic service, or mental health treatment. If you are experiencing mental health difficulties, please seek support from a qualified professional.

Account

Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account and use the Service. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.

Accurate information

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating your account and to keep this information updated. Providing false information — including a false age — may result in account suspension or termination.

One account per person

You may create only one account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions, abuse trial periods, or manipulate any social features is prohibited.

Account security

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, notify us immediately at support@anchor-loop.app.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

Prohibited actions

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, servers, or networks connected to the Service
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access, collect data from, or interact with the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
  • Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or any other malicious code
  • Impersonate another person or entity

Social features conduct

When using social features (pods, pacts, encouragements), you must not:

  • Post content that is abusive, harassing, threatening, defamatory, or hateful
  • Share content that violates others' privacy or intellectual property rights
  • Spam other users with unsolicited messages or encouragements
  • Use social features to promote commercial products or services

We reserve the right to remove content that violates these rules and to suspend or terminate accounts of users who repeatedly or severely breach them.

Intellectual Property

Our property

The Anchor Loop application, including its design, code, branding, copy, graphics, and all other content produced by us, is owned by the creators of Anchor Loop and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our intellectual property other than the limited license to use the Service as described herein.

Your data

You own your data. The habits, check-ins, goals, reviews, identity statements, and other content you create in Anchor Loop belong to you. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process, and display your data solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

We do not claim ownership of your personal data and we do not use it for advertising or sell it to third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Feedback

If you submit feedback or suggestions about the Service, you agree that we may use that feedback freely for any purpose without obligation to you.

Social Features

Anchor Loop includes optional social features including accountability pods and pacts. By joining or creating a pod or pact, you acknowledge that:

  • Your display name and shared habit progress (habit names and streaks) will be visible to other members of that pod
  • Encouragements you send will be visible to the recipient
  • Pact terms you agree to will be visible to your pact partner

You may leave a pod or dissolve a pact at any time through the app. On leaving, your shared data is removed from the pod view, but historical encouragement records may persist in other members' local data for a short period pending sync.

Social features are entirely optional. All core habit-tracking functionality is available without joining any pod or pact.

Be mindful of what you share. Habit names and identity statements can be personal. Only share what you are comfortable with other pod members seeing.

Subscriptions and Payments

Free and premium tiers

Anchor Loop may offer both a free tier and one or more premium subscription tiers. The features available in each tier are described within the app and may change over time.

Billing through app stores

All subscription purchases are processed exclusively through the Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android). Anchor Loop does not process payment card data directly. Your purchase is subject to the relevant app store's payment terms and refund policies.

Refunds

Refund requests must be directed to the app store through which you purchased the subscription. Apple and Google handle all billing disputes and refunds under their own terms.

Subscription management

You can manage, pause, or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID or Google Play account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Price changes

We may change subscription pricing from time to time. Where required by law, we will provide advance notice of price changes. Your continued subscription after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price.

Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and protection of your personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy explains, among other things:

  • What personal data we collect and why
  • The lawful basis for each category of processing
  • How long we retain your data
  • Your rights under GDPR and how to exercise them
  • How to export or delete your data

Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time through Profile → Delete Account in the app.

When you request deletion:

  • Your account enters a 30-day grace period. During this period, the account is deactivated but not yet deleted. You will receive a one-time recovery token — save it securely. You may recover your account by submitting this token within 30 days.
  • After 30 days, your account and all associated personal data are permanently and irreversibly deleted.
  • Subscription records are deleted when your account is permanently removed.
  • Server and security logs are retained for up to 30 days as part of normal operational retention.

Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active subscription. You must cancel your subscription separately through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store to stop future billing.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
  • The results obtained from use of the Service will be accurate or reliable
  • Any errors or defects in the Service will be corrected within any specific timeframe
  • The Service is free of viruses or other harmful components

You acknowledge that the Service is software and may contain bugs, errors, and inaccuracies. We are under no obligation to correct all defects or to maintain, update, or continue to offer the Service. While we endeavour to fix material issues, no timeline or guarantee is provided for bug resolution.

Your use of the Service is at your sole risk. Any content downloaded or otherwise obtained through the Service is accessed at your own discretion and risk, and you will be solely responsible for any damage to your device or loss of data that results from such use.

Consumer rights: Nothing in this section limits or excludes any warranties that cannot be lawfully excluded under the consumer protection laws of your jurisdiction.

Limitation of Liability

No guarantees of outcomes

Anchor Loop provides tools to support behavior change. We make no guarantee that use of the Service will result in any particular outcome, including habit formation, goal achievement, or behavior change.

Service availability

We aim to keep the Service available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free operation. The Service may be unavailable due to planned maintenance, unplanned outages, or factors outside our control.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the creators of Anchor Loop shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from or related to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the total amount paid by you to us in the 12 months preceding the claim (or, if you have not paid anything, EUR 50).

Data and progress

IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF HABITS, LOSS OF STREAKS, CORRUPTION OF USER CONTENT, OR ANY INTERRUPTION TO YOUR HABIT-TRACKING PROGRESS, WHETHER CAUSED BY BUGS, SERVER ISSUES, OR OTHERWISE.

Consumer rights

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any rights you have under mandatory consumer protection law in your jurisdiction that cannot be lawfully excluded.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the creators of Anchor Loop from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with:

  • Your use of or inability to use the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights
  • Any content you share through social features

This indemnification obligation survives termination of your account and these Terms.

Consumer rights: This clause applies to the maximum extent permitted by the consumer protection laws of your jurisdiction. It does not require you to indemnify us for losses caused by our own negligence.

Modifications to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes — changes that meaningfully affect your rights or obligations — we will notify you via an in-app announcement at least 14 days before the change takes effect.

If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you may delete your account before the change takes effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of a material change constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

Minor changes (such as clarifications, corrections to typos, or changes to non-material provisions) may take effect immediately and will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Romania and, where applicable, the laws of the European Union.

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Romania, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence require otherwise.

If you are a consumer resident in the EU, you may also have the right to use the EU's Online Dispute Resolution platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

We are committed to resolving disputes amicably. Before initiating formal proceedings, we encourage you to contact us at support@anchor-loop.app so we can attempt to resolve the issue directly.
